Our Story

Team South Wales is a volleyball club comprised of one performance focused female adult team.

The club was formed in 2009 by a group of experienced players with aspirations to compete at a high level.

The adult squad has since turned into a highly successful volleyball team competing across the UK,

including the prestigious Volleyball England (VE) National Volleyball League (NVL), and the VE National Cup.

Club History

TSW Achievements

2009-2014

League and Tournament Wins: South West Volleyball Association League, Cardiff Open (3 times), Regional Championships Trophy, NVL Division 3, VE National Shield, NVL Division 1.
Promotions and Cup Runs: Promoted to Super 8s, reached the semi-final of Volleyball England’s National Cup.

2014-2018
Super 8s and National Success: Maintained Super 8s position, highest finish 6th, consistent top 4 in National Division 1.
Youth and Coaching Achievements: Junior squad represented Wales in European Championships, Head coach won Performance Development Coach of the Year, Junior squad won Welsh League, junior players selected for GB national teams.

2019-Present
Beach Volleyball Representation: Adult and assistant coaches representing Wales in national 4-star beach volleyball tournaments.

Current Performance: Maintaining National Division 2 position, top 3 in current season.

September 2024/2025: The women's team started with a large squad with lots of new players, and new coach Aleks Borisov, who also captains the men's team. 
The men's team has started up strong with a great player base consisting of local players and experienced students from abroad. We can't wait to see what the future brings for both teams!

Welcome to the dynamic core of our community-centric, non-profit TSW Club organisation.

The lifeblood of our endeavors is a dedicated team of volunteers who drive our sporting dreams forward. We are excited to introduce our 2023/2024 Committee.
