The Junior development section is a new TSW project that we have started in the 2013-2014 season.

We used to have 2 junior girl squads. However, due to a lack of viable sports hall availability in and around Cardiff, we could not continue our junior squad at the start of this year's season.

We are actively exploring viable options, so do send us a message if you're interested!
We are currently looking for female players aged between 10 and 18 years old. All abilities are welcomed to join our squad that competes in the Welsh League.

We develop carefully tailored sessions in order to make sure that every players feels they are being appropriately challenged! Our junior players have been involved in the Welsh Junior Squads, the Welsh League, and participated in the UK School Games and European Championships Qualifiers.
We do this with experienced junior trainers and coachs.

The club has a Welfare Officer who is trained to ensure the health and safety of all junior members.
We ensure to stay close to the Team South Wales club ethos, that is, developing values such as commitment, thrive for achivement, team spirit and love for the sport! However, it is very important for us that this is attained through level and age-appropriated sessions, so caring and fun are also a big part of it.

Based on previous years, the training offer will look like this:
Wednesdays from 6.00pm to 7.30
Sundays from 9.30am to 11.30
at Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cyncoed Campus)
Memberships:
Memberships are to be paid to Cardiff Met Junior Academy per team. They are equivalent to £30 per month, including 2 sessions/week and competition games.
Any new player is welcomed to a free trial session!
Meet the Coach (until 2023)
Manuel Santos
Head Coach
Manuel has an experience of more than 10 years of coaching, mainly in Portugal, where he worked with athletes from 3 years old to adults. Manuel is also the Super 8's TSW adult squad assistant coach, and an Assistant Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He holds a masters degree on Sports and Physical Education and is now working on his Doctoral project around the Sports Coaching subject area.
