WHAT'S THE EXPOSURE LEVEL?

We have been developing not only in terms of performance, but also visibility and presence Nationwide as follows:

National Volleyball League

Currently, we are the only Welsh volleyball team to ever play on the Super 8s.The National League is wide-spread and has great national visibility as the league entail teams from across the whole of the UK. Moreover, after each game we are featured in the South Wales Echo after sending in a match report with accompanying pictures and more recently on the BBC Wales News Website (see examples here).

VE National Cup Finals

Last year, for the second time, our team reached the National Shield Cup final and WON! This is the single biggest event in the VE volleyball calendar. Teams from all divisions compete and only four make it to the final stage. Twice we have been one of those four. The event is held over two days in the National Volleyball Centre, in Kettering. There is volleyball specific as well as more generalised televised media coverage of this event. VE’s aim is to make this event as high profile as possible to showcase British volleyball and it is marketed and organised as such. Also, the teams are guaranteed a spot in the National Volleyball magazine and in the event match day programme which has a clear marketing space for sponsors to be recognised.

Training and Competition Venues

We are currently training and playing at a number of University and community sports venues, including the University of South Wales (USW) Treforest campus, USW Newport campus, and Western Leisure Centre in Cardiff. These are high profile multi sports focused environments used by a large number of university students, professional athletes and members of the public. Making the most of a high level of exposure.

Tournaments

Alongside the National League and Cup we also compete in pre-season and post-season tournaments, such as the Cardiff Open, and the South West Championships every year. Both are very popular tournaments, hosting around 20 teams (male and female) from all over the country. Post-season also includes beach volleyball tournaments, where our players, although competing in pairs, remain affiliated to the club and wear the club apparel.
